Rain had to happen sooner or later and today was the day. The weather forecast on rain and strong winds was spot on. Just not at the same time. Thankfully.
I started off walking by myself using good music as my only company. The first 10km from Villarmentero de Campos to Carrion de Los Condes. 
The Camino follows the main road for all of the first 10km. 
Carrion de Los Condos suddenly appeared in the rain. Note the "pilgrim" wearing an umbrella to the far right.

So me and my buddy below decided to move on to Caldadilla de la Cueza. He was a bit slow so I soon left him behind. 
Soon a great old sign was visible along the Camino. There are quite a few vintage signs still on the Camino. Most look brilliant. 
The road to Calzadilla de la Cueza was long, very straight, with no facilities and soon very very windy. Yes, the windiest since crossing the Pyrenees. As you can see, it is all open space. Maybe this is the real meseta.

Finally finally the small town of Caldadilla de la Cueza appeared in a valley. Several
The albergue wifi was crap but hearsay had it that the bar's wifi was OK. Now, where is that bar?
The pilgrim team that I had joined decided to meet at the cafe below to decide the next steps.
Initially the thought, given the grim weather forecast, was to stay in Carrion de Los Condes for the night. However, the weather forecast was suddenly revised for the afternoon, to windy but no more rain until tonight.
Ahh... You wonder what PoP stands for. Of course it stands for Piece of Piss, the Australian way :-)

Pup pizza and a glass of vino Tinto to finish the night. For a bargain price of 9€.50.
